Silly boy!

I thought this was funny! Avery decided to get his toy motorcycle and pretend he was riding it. I saw him coming down the hallway out of the corner of my eye and couldn't help but laugh! Had to take a pic real quick with my phone. Just wanted to share!

Thankful - Day 2

Boy, today is a beautiful day here! Bright and sunny! Avery had a great day with homeschool and I got some more laundry done. Loving the new dryer!!! Now we are chilling out. Avery is coloring and I am here typing. Today I am thankful for my family. I love my family tremendously!! Words cannot express the love I feel! They are my heart and soul and I can't imagine life without them! I miss everyone back home in Georgia very much (and Texas - Karen). I have my good days and my bad days with the homesickness, but it gets better with each passing week. Some days I'll just break down thinking about home, but I know we are here for a reason. And we have been truly blessed since moving here. But I will always be a Georgia girl! I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving and getting to see my parents and my siblings. Good times! Well, I'm off for now. Hope everyone has had a great Thursday! Jennifer

Happy Hump Day!

It's cloudy and overcast here today. And it's supposed to be pretty chilly too! Yay! Chilly finally! I am so hoping we will get some snow here in Mississippi this winter! I just love when it snows! So today I will be doing some laundry as we got a new dryer!! I have never been so excited about doing laundry in my life! It's gonna be so nice to not have to hang everything out! So now we all need new undies and socks because the other dryer was burning holes straight through them. Hilarious!! I mean mine and Greg's undies look like swiss cheese! : ) Not that you wanted to know that but it's the truth! They would probably whistle with any passing of gas!! Ha! Ha! Ha!
On a different note, I can't wait til Thanksgiving! Only 1 more week. And only 1 more week from today when my little man turns 6. Boy has time flown by! It makes me so sad. He is growing up way too fast! He is the sunshine in my life and my pride and joy! He can make me want to pull my hair out at times (on a daily basis), but boy do I love that boy!! He is a trip! Wish I had some pics saved on my computer or memory card so I could post pics of him when he was a wee bairn, but I didn't get my digital camera til he was like 3. But believe me when I say, he was a chunky monkey and so doggone cute!!! Cutest boy ever!
So for the next week I will list something every day that I am extremely thankful for. I would love for you to leave a comment at the end of the post in the comment box of something that you are thankful for. That would be neat to read what you all have to say. Today (and everyday) I am extremely thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am so undeserving of his love and faithfulness to me. Especially when I am not so loving and faithful at times. He has truly blessed my life beyond measure and I pray that I am worthy one day to be with Him in Heaven.
Hope you all have a bright and sunny day with abundant blessings!! Jennifer

Hidee Ho everyone!! Happy Tuesday! Boy, it rained pretty good out here yesterday evening and all night. But you couldn't tell it now! It is so pretty outside! Had a great day yesterday. Got the van to Mr. Tommy to work on for a couple of days and then went and got all the stuff to fill the shoebox for little Curtis (Chubby). He is a cute little boy. He is 6 years old and lives on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona. I got him some school/art supplies and some little toys, and some candy. I sure hope he likes it all! Then I got it wrapped and ready to go! The ladies at First Christian Church are also collecting items to fill boxes for care packages for Soldiers. I am excited about this too! They do so much for us and our country! They deserve more than what is in the care packages, but I know that they enjoy getting them and all the goodies! Not doing too much today. Just homeschooling and who knows what else! I can't wait to get the new dryer hooked up and ready to use! I'm tired of hanging out clothes! Especially Avery's little socks and scivvies! : ) But God is great and blesses those who wait upon the Lord! And boy has he blessed us! Beyond what we deserve and we are so thankful! Hope you all have a blessed day! Jennifer

These are 2 pics of some trees in our yard. I just thought they were pretty with the sun shining on them!

Here are the pics of hunting day and the Christmas program.

Monday, Monday!

Happy Monday all! Is there such a thing as Happy Monday?!? Probably not, to many people! : ) It's a pretty day here today. Had a great weekend and a great day at Sunday School and church yesterday! Took some more pics for the children's Christmas program. These kids are a trip!! They look so cute in the costumes. Avery was one of the wise men in the pics we took yesterday out here at the house. Cute!

Greg and the boys didn't get a deer Saturday. Greg said Avery wouldn't sit still or be quiet. Imagine that! But they had fun. Well I better get going. I have to go and get some stuff to fill up a shoebox for one of the children on the Navajo Indian Reservation. They have a Navajo mission at the church and they take a trip out to Arizona every year to the reservation there. Me and Greg really want to try and go next year. From the pics I see, it looks absolutely beautiful out there and the kids look so cute!

Hope you all have a great and wonderfully blessed day!! Jennifer

So I need to make sure the house is presentable! Other than that, it's gonna be a good day! Fixing to start homeschool and drink another cup of coffee. Hope you all have a great and wonderful day!! See you soon!

This pic is of the Thanksgiving card I made for Hospice. I love, love, love the pumpkin!! It is one of my favorite little cards I've made I think! And so easy to do with an oval punch. I made close to 20 of them for Hospice and a lady from Bowdon, Ga. saw them and wanted them all to sell in her antique store. Pretty cool huh? I've got to make some more to send out. I used Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Whisper White, and Tangerine Tango cardstock. I used old olive ink and old olive ribbon. The card measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. Oh, and Stampin Up doesn't have envelopes that size so I made my own (with great instructions from Angie Judea, aka Chic 'n' Scratch). If you'd like to know how to make them just let me know! Easy peasy!

Avery is going to hate me one day for doing this, but I couldn't resist!! I took this pic last night because he just looked so doggone cute! I love the way his hands are on his cheeks and look at that hair! Precious! I had to share before I hit the hay! See ya'll tomorrow!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor!

Hi neigbor! It is yet another gorgeous day here in Mississippi! Yesterday day was a good day with Greg being off. It ended up being busier than I thought it would. We ended up going to look and test drive the van that our landlord, Mr. Vernon, has. Drives really good and he is letting us have it with now money down! He is so nice! Just needs to have the windshield wipers fixed and we are good to go. I'll take pics of it when we get it. Hopefully, that should be in the next day or two. Mr. Brown is going to fix the wipers for us. He goes to church with us and he is super sweet! He is only going to charge us for the parts, no labor. We are truly blessed! We will have the van paid off in a year or less. Yippee! It's going to be so nice to have an extra vehicle, especially when we drive home for Thanksgiving. I won't be stuck in the middle of the truck with my knees hurting! The van is a 2000 Chevy Venture. Other than that, today will be a kind of lazy day. Homeschooling and some laundry and dishes. That's about it for now. Hope you all have a blessed day!

Recipe from Pioneer Woman

Good Wednesday everyone! It is absolutely beautiful here today! Greg is off for veterans day, so we are gonna get out and enjoy the day. Then we are gonna grill out for lunch and just chill. Good times! We had a great time with the Fun Bunch from church last night. We ate at a good restaurant called Bartahatchie Outback. I had the Oyster po boy and Greg got the grilled cajun catfish. It was pretty tasty! Well, I better go get ready. These boys are impatient when it comes to waiting on a woman. : ) Here is the White Chicken Enchilada recipe from the Pioneer Woman website. She is so funny, as you will see when you get to the bottom of the recipe. Hope you all enjoy! If any of you make it, let me know how it was! I think you can leave a comment at the end of my post. I'd love to hear from ya! Have a blessed and safe day!

White Chicken Enchiladas
Added by Ree Drummond on November 8, 2009 in Casseroles, Main Courses

Prep Time 45 Minutes
Cook Time 30 Minutes Servings 6 Difficulty Intermediate

Ingredients
•2-½ cups Cooked, Shredded Chicken
•2 cups Reserved Broth From Chicken
•3 Tablespoons Canola Oil
•12 whole Corn Tortillas
•1 whole Large Onion, Diced
•3 whole 4 Oz Cans Whole Green Chilies, Diced
•1 whole Jalapeno, Seeded And Finely Diced
•1 teaspoon Paprika
•½ cups Heavy Cream
•2 Tablespoons Butter
•2 Tablespoons Flour
•1 cup Sour Cream
•2-½ cups Monterey Jack Cheese, Grated
•Salt And Pepper (to Taste)
•Picante Sauce (optional)
•Cilantro, Chopped
Preparation Instructions
Heat 2 tablespoons canola oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Fry tortillas for no longer than 20 seconds, just to soften (do not allow to become crisp.) Place tortillas on a large towel or stack of paper towels to drain.

Heat 1 tablespoon canola oil in separate skillet over medium heat. Add onions and jalapenos and saute for 1 minute, just to start the cooking process. Add chicken, half of the green chilies, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika. Stir together. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth and stir. Add cream and stir, allowing mixture to bubble and get hot. Turn off heat and set aside.

In a separate large skillet, melt butter and sprinkle in flour. Whisk together and cook over medium heat for one minute. Pour in 1 1/2 cups chicken broth. Whisk together and cook for another minute or two. Stir in the other half of the chilies. Reduce heat, then stir in sour cream. Add 1 1/2 cups grated cheese and stir to melt. Add 1/2 teaspoon paprika. Check seasoning and add salt and pepper as needed.

To assemble, spoon chicken mixture on top of tortillas, one by one. Top with plenty of cheese and roll up. Place seam side down in a 9 x 13 casserole dish.

Pour cheese mixture all over the top of the tortillas. Top with extra cheese if you’d like, then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle generously with chopped cilantro.

Serve with picante sauce, if desired.

Faint. Repeat as needed.

Cards and Stuff!

This is a pic of all the goodies I made for the gift basket for the Ladies Retreat. I had so much fun making everything!!

This was a cute little bag cover. There is a little glassine bag inside with 2 binder clip photo holders. Precious!

This is one of the Christmas cards I made that went inot a cute little card holder. I love this Dasher stamp! Simple but pretty!

This is another Christmas card mad for the card holder. Love this stamp too! It's called Tree Trimmings and I used the Merry Moments Designer Paper from Stampin Up. Love it!

This is a stair step card I made. It may look intimidating, but very easy to make. I was surprised at how easy it was. This would be very cute as a Christmas card with a family photo adhered to the last step in the back where I have the stamped image.
If any of you would like details on any of these projects let me know! And make sure to check out my Stampin Up website at www.jenniferhbruce.stampinup.net

Boy is it windy!!

We had a good bit of rain here last night and this morning. Now it is extremely windy and cold!! I think Georgia is supposed to get a good bit of bad weather today, so I hope my family stays safe! I wantd to post some pics today of random things. Some of halloween and some of cards and things I made for the Ladies Retreat gift basket. Oh, and a recipe I just found on the Pioneer Woman blog. I love her blog! So many good recipes and stories about homeschooling, ranch life, photography, and other things. She is so funny too! She has a cookbook that just came out and I really want it! Not that I need another cookbook, as I have quite a plethora of them, but one more won't hurt! And she was featured in the December issue of Southern Living magazine. Pretty cool! So here are some pics. Enjoy! Hope you all have a blessed day! Jennifer

Here is the cutest Optimus Prime ever!! Avery looked so cute in his costume! We had a great time at the Trunk or Treat and we had lots of candy left over.

Some more pics of the Trunk or Treat. Lots of fun!!

Monday, November 9, 2009

Good morning all! It looks like we might be getting a little rain today. I think that Ida storm is gonna get us with it's outer edges! I am enjoying my coffee and fixing to start homeschool with Avery. Getting a later start than I wanted. But luckily, kindergarten doesn't take too long! I will be making some more Thank You cards today for the people that helped with the Trunk or Treat. I'll take some pics and get some posted of those cards. And I'll try to get pics posted of the items I made for the Ladies Retreat gift basket. I had so much fun making everything for it and it turned out great!! We had a great time at the retreat! It was at Lake Tiak-O-Khata in Louisville, Mississippi. Such a beautiful place! I'd like to go back again someday soon with the fam. Well, I better get Avery started on his expanding his brain. He is quite the little smarty if I must say so! Only 4 months into the school year and he is already reading short sentences and short stories very good!! And his handwriting is so neat too, for a five year old boy. I can't believe he will be 6 years old in 2 weeks! My turkey boy! He is growing up so fast and I don't like it one bit! But, nothing I can do about it. I just pray he grows into a good Christian young man and always has the desire that he has now to be in church whenever the doors are open. He is so cute when he talks about God and Jesus and how important they are! I pray he always feels that way. Well, I'll be back later with some pics. Blessings for a great day to you all!!

New Blog!

So, I've decided to start a blog. I thought, "Why not?". I thought it would be fun to share different crafts I've created and the everyday happenings in my household. I hope you enjoy checking my blog on a weekly basis. I will try to update and post often. I will be posting a little bit of this and that. So make sure to check back often!

So today was a lazy day for me as I had a terrible headache. Greg and Avery went to Sunday School and Church without me. I stayed home and nursed my head. I finally felt some relief a little after lunch time. Migraines are relentless! But I perservered!! Greg finished cutting grass after lunch and it looks so pretty!

I am so happy that my Georgia Tech Yellowjackets won Saturday! They are having an awesome year so far! Hope it continues! And Greg's Crimson Tide won also. So it was a great football day for us!

Well, I guess I better hit the hay. It is late! Ready for a great week of homeschooling and whatever the Good Lord has in store for me! I pray all of you have a great week! Come back soon!
